Brent has served in a wide range of ministerial, board, and academic positions: senior pastor and interim minister at churches, visiting lecturer; federal prison chaplain; university theology instructor; and grief and trauma counselor. Brent is a certified spiritual director who works with individuals across the globe. The son of Wycliffe Bible translators who serve the Carrier indigenous people of British Columbia, his early years
on the reservation shaped his Christian worldview and ongoing desire to serve marginalized people. Brent is the senior pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, Michigan. He holds a master’s degree in theology from Concordia University Montreal.
Ryan encourages individuals to live H-O-T (Honest, Open, and Transparent), and believes in challenging, with love, the status-quo of many believers towards a practical understanding and application of God’s Word.
Ryan, his wife Maryann, and their family have traveled more than 150,000 miles and conducted more than 2,500 services in over 250 locations across North America (30 states and Canada), Central America (El Salvador and Guatemala), and overseas (Europe, Middle East, India), with the focus on kindling Christ-centered movements of authentic Christianity that displays the gospel and assists in aiding in the Great Commission.
