Hope in Adversity: A Study of Hebrews

Leader: Marla Hutchinson
Day/Time: Friday 9:15-11:15am
Materials Needed: None- a study guide will be provided
Study Description:
When we are in the middle of life’s struggles, it is easy to loose perspective. The author of Hebrews uses his gift of encouragement to help us focus on Jesus, our Messiah, and how through his suffering he has been made perfect and complete to meet our every need today. The author helps us see more clearly our alternatives are to go on to receive God’s promises, or to return to systems that are burdensome and futile. The author also gives us a Hall of Fame of outstanding heroes of the faith who each held on to their certainty of things not seen. By fixing our thoughts and focus on Jesus, we now have a clean conscience, confidence and rest from our need to gain approval. He is our answer for the today we experience now and for our eternal future. What a Savior! Join us as we study the book of Hebrews and join together in prayer.
Suggested Preparation time: 20-30 minutes, 4 times per week
There will be a zoom option available that ladies can join with.

God of Deliverance: A Study of Exodus 1-18

Leaders: Catie Holt and Tracie Wier
Day/Time: Friday 9:15-11:15am
Materials Needed: the study book, “God of Deliverance: A Study of Exodus 1-18” by Jen Wilkin
Study Description:
The Exodus of the Israelites shapes our understanding of the whole Bible, its theme reverberating all the way to Revelation. Exodus is the birth narrative of a nation unmistakably guided by the great Deliverer. In this 10-session study of Exodus 1-18, Jen Wilkin shows us that Israel's story is our story: the same God who delivered Israel also delivers all those He loves from slavery to sin and from service to the pharaohs of this world. He lifts our eyes to the promised land He has prepared where we dwell with I AM and worship Him as the one true God.
Suggested Preparation time: 20-30 minutes five days a week

The Coming of God’s Kingdom: Matthew

Leader: Marian Douce and Lynn Onken
Day/Time: Fridays 9:15-11:15am
Materials Needed: the study book, “The Coming of God’s Kingdom: Matthew” by Kay Arthur & Pete DeLacy, a notebook or loose-leaf binder/paper, colored pencils or pens
Study Description:
Jesus' ministry was intensely personal. He lived among the common people. He welcomed men and women whom the religious leaders rejected. He called individuals to follow Him. And He touched the needy and healed them. Yet His message was direct and demanding, one so little understood today and yet so desperately needed: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew has the key that unlocks kingdom truths and prepares us so we will be ready for the day of His coming. This inductive study enables readers to observe and interpret this gospel’s message and apply it to their own lives. Brief, daily exercises provide tools to help readers note key words, list important insights, question and reflect on the text, and discover God’s answers for themselves.
Suggested Preparation time: 30 minutes - 2 hours per week

Room: 156
Materials Needed: the study book, “Luke in the Land” by Kristi McLelland

In this study, we will travel through Israel in teaching sessions filmed in locations that Jesus would’ve walked. Over the course, we will challenge the way you read the accounts of Jesus through locations in Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Gethsemane, Jerusalem, and the road to Emmaus. Along the way, you’ll see how Jesus, the Messiah, brought His kingdom to earth for everybody. Join us as we gain a deeper understanding of Jesus’s life from a first-century point of view. We will also explore cultural and historical concepts that will give new perspective on well-known Biblical accounts.
